Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 starts today, no live event planned

Today is the final day for Chapter 3 Season 1 of Fortnite and the game will be shut down at 3am EST tonight for maintenance. Ending with a grand event has been a continuing trend of recent seasons, but this time around Epic Games doesn’t seem to have anything planned to pin down what’s next.

There is currently no news as to what the theme for Season 2 will be, but there has already been a leak that Doctor Strange will participate in the new season in some way. If Doctor Strange ended up being part of the Battle Pass, that wouldn’t be surprising given Marvel and Epic Games have a healthy relationship. Spider-Man was part of Chapter 3 Season 1 and Chapter 2 featured a larger Marvel season in Season 4. Also with the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Upon release in May, it only makes sense to market it through Fortnite.

Epic Games has yet to announce exactly when the maintenance will be lifted, but it’s likely to be some time into Sunday when we’ll get a new Battle Pass and likely a new updated map. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 starts today, no live event planned
