Former NBA player makes his professional wrestling debut with AEW

Former NBA player Satnam Singh made his debut last night and it wasn’t the sport one would expect.

Professional athletes who compete in other sports appear to be more regular. The latest sport change is former NBA player Satnam Singh, who made his AEW debut last night when he joined Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt in the ring to attack Samoa Joe.

Singh’s career swap is similar to that of another former NBA player, Nate Robinson. Robinson made his professional boxing debut against YouTuber Jake Paul. Unlike Singh, Robinson’s debut didn’t end well. Robinson was KO’d by Paul in the second round.

Satnam Singh was once a Dallas Maverick

Singh made history as the first Indian to be drafted into an NBA team. Singh was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2015. He played two years in the G-League with Mavericks subsidiary Texas Legends and started in two of those games. In 2018 he signed with the St.John Edge, which is part of the National Basketball League of Canada.

According to ESPN, Singh failed an out-of-competition test in Bangalore for the South Asian Games in 2019. The test was conducted by NADA. Singh tested positive for higenamine.
