Yaya Toure will be given his own ‘Age Group’ team to coach at Tottenham
Taking charge of his own team will be the first permanent coaching job the Ivorian will get in his career. Tottenham Hotspur are also set to sign former striker Jermain Defoe as part of their youth coaching setup.
According to the Evening Standard, the player will be given his own ‘age group’ to coach after receiving his UEFA A license earlier this year. “Sitting in the office all the time – that’s not me” – Said Yaya Toure on Coaches’ Voice last year.
Yaya Toure spent 9 years at Manchester City after winning the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009. During that time he played 315 games for the Citizens, scoring 79 goals and making 50 assists.
He won a total of 3 Premier Leagues with Manchester City as well as 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup. He also had a glittering career at Barcelona but his most iconic moments came in the Premier League when he became a prolific midfielder for the Citizens.
