Former Georgia defender, now with Florida, sends Dawgs alert then deletes it

Former Georgia defenseman Brenton Cox Jr., now with Florida, sent a warning to his former team and then chose to delete the message soon after.
Herm Edwards once said, “Don’t click send.” That message clearly should have been reserved for Brenton Cox Jr. of Florida, formerly of Georgia.
Cox, once a high-profile Georgia recruit now with the Gators, tweeted warned his former team, saying they should be aware of his presence and be ready. But then Cox took it down. Still, the tweet was out there for everyone to see, and someone picked it up.
Funny thing is that although Cox had a productive season for the Gators last year, highlighted by 8.5 sacks, there was the shot from Stetson Bennett IV, a player who wasn’t touted as highly as Cox. Pulling a Vince Young and run away for a first down.
Georgia Soccer: Florida defector Brenton Cox Jr. warns Bulldogs then erases him
Of course, the Georgia-Florida rivalry is tough, and Brenton Cox has been on both sides now, but it’s not really wise to take a shot at your former team, especially when they’re the reigning national champions of the sport.
Given how well the Bulldogs have been recruiting lately and how they’ve fared in this rivalry in four of the last five years, the Gators have a lot of catching up to do, especially the 34-7 drubbing Florida suffered last season . Also, like the Gators, the Bulldogs are bringing back some faces from last season, so the advantage belongs to the boys in Athens.
If you don’t want to retract your words, don’t click Submit. But Brenton Cox tweeted his thoughts. He may have erased it, but someone captured it and it will live on. Now it’s up to him and his colleagues to back up the comments; Otherwise, the Dawgs will end up laughing in Jacksonville.
