Flyers all-time regular season player record

NS Philadelphia Flyers have been a team in the NHL for 54 seasons and have some great players to come through and stick with throughout the years. With a rich history, many of these records are held by retired NHL players, but some are challenged by the current crop.

Only one player has ever played more than 1,000 games for the Flyers: Bobby Clarke. He ended his career with 1,144 games for the franchise. Playing 1,000 games in the NHL is not just an achievement, it’s so much more for an organization.

Only two others have even played over 800 games for the Flyers. Claude Giroux comes in second with 956 and is the only active player in the top 10 in games played for the franchise. Bill Barber is third on the list with 903 games played for the team.

Flyers all-time goalkeeping record

Games played (GP)

The Flyers track has been run by two men for a large part of their history, Ron Hextall and Bernie Parent. Hextall finished his career with 489 games for the Flyers, while Parent finished with 486. Third place wasn’t even close, but Steve Mason held the spot with 231 games played.

Also in a very tight race, Hextall and Parent once again topped the all-time Flyers list, this time winning. Hextall won 240 games as a member of the franchise, while Parent won 231. Mason is the only goalkeeper to win more than 100 games (104) as Flyers can never find a franchise goalkeeper after Hextall.

Parent holds the all-time franchise record with 50 closures and hasn’t even closed yet. In second place are Cechmanek with 20, and Hextall with 18. Only seven goalkeepers have scored 10 or more saves with the Flyers.

The Flyers were part of the first wave of expansion teams and have a history of great players that have supported them for years. All-time records are filled with familiar faces appearing in multiple categories. Will we see any passing all the time? The future is still undecided, but it looks bright.
