A Florida man is under investigation after a video allegedly showing him sexually abusing his dog was obtained by police.
Nicholas Schaab20 years old, allegedly digitally and verbally assaulted his “family dog”, according to a lawsuit filed by New Smyrna Beach Police Department Animal Services.
The police learned of the video from Schaab’s ex-girlfriend, who identified the victim in the case as Berkley.
Schaab and his two roommates, Laura Daughtrey and Peter Rogalski, currently under police investigation.
A civil lawsuit has been filed against Schaab for sexual activity involving animals, but no criminal charges have been filed against all three.
There were also no arrests made on Wednesday in connection with these allegations.
However, the police arrested Berkley. A member of the New Smyrna Beach Police Department said Law & Crime that the dog will stay Humane Society of Southeast Volusia when officers investigated the incident.
In a court filing on Wednesday, Officer M. Wilk Statuses:
Nicholas Schaab intentionally had sex with an animal (family dog) by licking the dog’s anus with his tongue and digitally touching the anus with his fingers. Mr. Schaab also videotaped the sex scene.
Officer Wilk said that an ex-girlfriend of Schaab informed authorities about the video after it was sent to her with an unspecified number, according to the petition.
Schaab’s ex-girlfriend said she deleted the number but saved the video. The petition says she also showed her mother the video.
The lawsuit reveals that Officer Wilk then extracted video footage from the woman’s phone with a UCB and used her phone as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
There is another male in the video who has not been identified according to the request, but it is unclear if that person was with Schaab or if the two were video chatting.
The petition describes the events of the video as follows:
The video shows two males. [Redacted] was able to identify one as Nicholas Schaab. [Redacted] had a previous relationship with Mr. Schaab. Schaab is alleged to have strangled, punched, beaten and spit on his ex-girlfriend multiple times during their two-year relationship in the affidavit filed in that case.
That affidavit also includes three photos from a March 19, 2021 incident that the victim is said to describe in detail.
