Flight attendant placed iPhone camera in toilet to record female passengers
Over Labor Day weekend, press reports exploded about an American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Boston, where passengers reported a video camera in the toilet, and it appeared that it may have been placed there by a flight attendant to accommodate a young girl.
According to the girl’s family, they were on the bus, but the 14-year-old was asked to use the first class bathroom. The crew member, she said, initially just wanted to “wash his hands.” As she exits the restroom, she says the flight attendant told her the seat was broken (but the restroom itself was fine). She went into the bathroom and as soon as she came out the flight attendant went back in.
The girl’s family is suing American Airlines. The airline initially reported that it was cooperating with law enforcement, but the family’s lawyer said otherwise She I haven’t heard anything from the shipping company.

After going to the bathroom, our daughter noticed that there was a mostly obscured iPhone attached to the back of the toilet seat to record her and bravely took a photo of it with her own phone. Very specific features of the hidden phone matched perfectly those later recovered from the flight attendant by law enforcement, and airline officials confirmed that the official stickers used to secure and hide the phone were not accessible to anyone other than the crew would have been.

In 2019, there were reports that Southwest Airlines pilots spent a flight watching passengers use the restrooms. At this point they should be flying their plane.
A few months earlier, a United passenger was caught videotaping women in the toilet. He was caught because he accidentally filmed himself installing the camera. When the camera was found, his picture was on it.
