“First Kill” cancelled: Netflix is ​​waiving Season 2 of the Vampire series

Netflix has taken a cut from First Kill and has decided against picking up the teen vampire series for a second season. The news comes nearly two months after the streamer debuted all eight episodes of the show’s first season in early June.

Sources close to the matter claim that Netflix is ​​proud of the work the producers, cast and crew put into the series, though the decision came down to a matter of looking at numbers versus costs.

Based on a short story by horror author VE Schwab, “First Kill” follows Calliope (Imani Lewis) and Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), two teenage girls who fall in love but come from feuding families: one a dynasty of vampire slayers who other a number of bloodsuckers.
