The action heats up at the ASUN conference tonight as the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles and the Bellarmine Knights battle it out at Freedom Hall in Kentucky. The Eagles are having a fantastic end to their season, winning eight of their last nine games before tonight’s regular season finale. The Eagles are also out for revenge after Bellarmine won the first game between these two teams 74-63. It was the last game FGCU lost before their eight-of-nine run began. Oddly enough, that win was one of the last bright spots of the Knights’ season as they have gone 4-4 up since that win.
Can they turn things around for a season sweep tonight or will the Eagles continue to play well and even into this season streak? Here are the odds for this ASUN matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
In total: 145.5 (above -110/below -110)
While Bellarmine is up .500 since their last game against FGCU, their record against the spread has been far worse. With 0-5 in their last five home games and 3-6 ATS at home this year, it literally couldn’t be worse mathematically. As home favorites they are 2-4 ATS and haven’t seen a home game since January 18th. From the way Bellarmine has been playing for the past few weeks I’m honestly surprised they’re favored in this game. Sure, they’re playing their season finale at home, and many expect them to “stand up” for it. I’m just not sure what they left in the tank after a few weeks.
Another reason to be suspicious of this line is the fact that the Eagles have a top-40 scoring offense and are very dangerous when they have the Rock. They rank 58th in effective FG percentage, 52nd in two-point shooting, and 86th in shot efficiency. The Knights rank 245th in scoring offense and could easily be left in the dust along with their 218th scoring defense.
