Fernando Tatis Jr.’s latest PED excuse is even worse than tinea

Fernando Tatis Jr.’s latest PED excuse is even worse than tinea.

When that was announced Padre’s thug Fernando Tatis Jr. was marked for PEDs, he released a statement showing it was due to tinea medication. We all laughed at that apology at the time, but you might want to prepare. This next excuse is much worse.

Tatis Jr.’s father, Fernando Tatis, said it was because of a bad haircut.

Yes, you read that correctly.

“As for him [Tatis Jr.] is a steroid that contains a spray called Trofobol… He got a fungus from a haircut,” his father told Hector Gomez. “His mistake was not reading the content, which apparently makes him guilty of something completely unknown.”

His father also said that because of the 80-game suspension, millions of people would stop watching baseball. Which just seems a bit dramatic.

“It was a mistake that could have been handled differently, that could shatter a player’s image for such a small thing, for a situation like this,” he continued according to the Daily Mail. “It’s a disaster, not just for Tatis Jr., but for baseball as a whole. There are millions of fans who will stop watching baseball.”

Tatis signed a 14-year, $330 million deal just over a year ago.

“All of this happened because of something not worth this problem,” he said. “It’s something for the skin, it’s not performance-enhancing and it doesn’t have testosterone. It doesn’t help you improve in the game.”
