On April 14, an accused tweet A$AP Rocky cheating on his pregnant girlfriend rihanna with shoe designer Fenty, Amina Muaddi, quickly became known. But it only took about four, five seconds for Amina to shut down the “malicious” rumor, calling it an “unfounded lie”.
“I have always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media does not deserve an answer or clarification, especially one so heinous,” she wrote in a statement posted to Instagram on April 15. “I initially assumed that this bogus gossip — fabricated with such malicious intent — wasn’t taken seriously, but for the last 24 [hours], I was reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to talk about issues, regardless of factual basis, and that nothing is taboo. Not even at one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in life.”
Amina, who has worked alongside Rihanna on the Fenty brand for the past few years, explained why she decided to break her silence.
