Federal safeguards for reproductive health care will save lives. Congress must pass the WHPA

campaign action
GOP attacks on our access to healthcare continue. We are now waiting for what could be the worst federal abortion decision since Roe v. calf was overturned as Trump-appointed District Court Judge for the Northern District of Texas Matthew Kacsmaryk will decide whether or not to revoke the FDA’s 23-year-old approval for mifepristone nationwide. Medical abortion with mifepristone is the most common form of abortion 53% of all abortions performed in the US.
These trends are bad. As prohibitions and restrictions on reproductive healthcare increase, our economic security, our health and our lives are increasingly at risk. Congressmen are elected to protect Americans, and it’s about time they did just that.
By passing the WHPA, our lawmakers could remove barriers to reproductive health care that disproportionately affect black, brown and indigenous people, transgender and queer people, people with disabilities, people on low incomes and people living in rural areas. They could prevent more maternal and infant deaths. And they would enshrine reproductive freedom.

Abortion treatment must be free, accessible, and available to everyone, everywhere, in every state. When we expand access, we all win.
People are currently being denied abortion treatment, so we have no time to waste. Congress must use every means at its disposal to guarantee reproductive freedom for all.
