The family were enjoying a campfire in their backyard when they heard the crash of a car outside their Hamlyn Terrace residence last Saturday night.

“There are no words for what happened,” his daughter Lara Seddon told 7NEWS.

Rob Seddon, his family and friends ran outside to find a Toyota Corolla that had crashed into a parked trailer on Skyhawk Avenue.

Seddon was trying to help the 17-year-old driver when police claimed a pack of young men, unknown to the family king, beat Rob, who banged his head on the ground, leaving him bleeding and unconscious.

“All I remember is that they came, sprinted towards Dad and literally within a second Dad was down,” Lara told 7NEWS.

“I was trying to really stop his head from bleeding.”

He was flown to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition and underwent brain surgery. He remains in intensive care and cannot breathe on his own.

After attacking Seddon, the youths allegedly turned on his son Kyle and his son’s friend Nathan, who were left injured and bloodied with broken bones.

“Just not being able to talk to (Rob) or even communicate with him, it’s just not a pretty place,” Angela told 7NEWS.

7NEWS believes the police know exactly who the culprits are and charges are not far off.

“We beg. We want these people locked away,” Angela said.
