Fans are calling out Safaree for trying to show off his “Hoochie Daddy Shorts” while spending time with his kids
Hoochie Daddy’s short season is upon us and Safarie Samuels is the latest celebrity to go viral for shorts in which women approach men to compliment their beautiful thighs. But instead of giving praise, fans are calling out the ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ star for doing this while spending time with his kids.
In Samuel’s Instagram Story, he shows off his shiny abs and tattooed chest. In the video you can see him pushing a stroller holding his 2-year-old daughter. Sapphire Majestyand son Legend Brianwho turned 1 year old in June.
“They say to be a hoochie daddy you have to be a daddy, daddy,” the 41-year-old said, before using his trademark Jamaican accent. He continued, “Some say yo,” before one of the kids repeated, “Yo,” after him.
“Hey, hey, I’m not talking to you guys, okay?!” Samuels mentioned before gloating over his shorts, finding “two-inch hoochie daddy shorts.” He added, “I’ll take those next.”
Some in the comments section gushed about how “good” Samuels looked in his mustard yellow shorts, including one person who said, “And he looks amazing in them.” A second person said, “Love it Safaree, just living his life.” , whatever you say,” and a third commenter wrote, “I’m sorry but these are weird!! I wish my husband would!!”
Meanwhile, dozens focused on the Brooklyn native dumping his kids. Some felt he should focus on spending quality time instead of making an Instagram video.

A handful approached Samuel’s ex Nicky Minaj and his estranged wife Erika Mena. One person said: “He embarrasses me like I’m Nicki and Erica.”
Another wrote: “Lmao I’m still weak towards him for getting married not to mention having TWO kids with Erica.”
Mena and Samuel met in 2017 while filming the reality competition series Scared Famous. They began dating not long after and were engaged the following year. The former couple married in October 2019 while Mena was pregnant with their daughter. Safire was born in February 2020 followed by Legend in June 2021.
A month before their son was born, Mena filed for divorce and asked for sole custody of Safire. Many had doubts about Mena and Samuels’ union, which was seen as toxic due to constant cheating allegations, social media arguments and damaged property. The pair attempted to work things out on VH1 Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition, which aired in December 2021.
