F1 22 crossplay beta tests will be made public in August

Cross platform play is coming too F1 22 This month begins with two public-facing tests over the next two weekends, with full integration coming at the end of August.
The tests will take place from Friday 5th August to Sunday 7th August and from Friday 12th August to Sunday 14th August. Players can play on all platforms – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Cross-platform multiplayer should be a launch feature, if F1 22 hit shelves on July 1, but that was delayed because a contractor in Ukraine is handling the feature for UK-based company Codemasters. Cross-platform multiplayer has long been requested by the F1 video game community and Codemasters brought it to its two most recent non-F1 games, dirt 5 and network legends.
Thursday’s statement reassured players that crossplay can be disabled for those who only wish to compete against devices from the same device family. Overall, Codemasters expects cross-platform multiplayer to significantly improve matchmaking in online multiplayer and ensure drivers are more consistently matched with others of similar skill. It is also intended to enrich the two-player career launched in 2021 by bringing together Formula 1 fans with friends who have the game on a different family of consoles.
