Expert Predictions for NFL Week 12 – The Athletic

Give Lovie Smith’s Texans a piece of the defense. Houston only lost to Tennessee 420 yards and still managed to beat the AFC-leading Titans 22-13 after being forced to have five legs. Yes, Tyrod Taylor’s two rushed hits helped, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about. In the past two weeks alone, Texans have allowed a total of 30 points and scored ten lessons. The bar is set quite low in Houston, so this is a bright spot. The Texans are currently leading 5-5 with two outright wins. They opened as three favorites against the Jets.

New York’s 24-17 loss to Miami certainly looked like a missed opportunity. Joe Flacco throw 291 yards and two touchdowns, and Elijah Moore broke out with 141 yards received while the game ran for an average of 5.7 yards per take. But the jet is 1/4 in the red area. Flacco’s mess at the 12-yard line in Miami was New York’s most serious misdeed, though Matt Amendola also miss a pair of long field targets. The Jets finally held their opponents below 30 points for the first time in a month, which is a positive sign. But still not enough reason to bet them here.
