Former UFC fighter Raulian Paiva has been arrested in Brazil on allegations of domestic violence. However, he recently denied all allegations against him and was released from prison. According to him, everything was a lie invented by his wife Vanilza Santos.

Former Brazilian MMA star Raulian Paiva has been arrested for domestic violence, according to Globo Esporte Amapá and AG Fight, two Brazilian news outlets. According to the reports, the incident happened on Monday 23 January.

After the incident, the former UFC bantamweight fighter’s wife went to the nearest police station and told officers that her husband had forced her to leave their home.

Paiva also threatened her, saying, “I’m going to kill you and throw your stuff on the street.”

Although at the time of the incident she was accompanied by her friend who witnessed the whole incident and confirmed the fact.

However, after his release from prison, Paiva denied all allegations, claiming that everything was just made up by his wife. He added that there was no physical altercation between him and his wife that night. They had a little argument and in a moment of anger her wife went to the police station.

He later claimed that everything is fine now. In an interview with Globo Esporte Amapá, the 27-year-old revealed all the information.

“The threats and aggression are a lie. We had an argument and in a moment of anger, my wife went to the police station and fiercely filed a complaint. But we sorted it out and we’re fine.”

After losing to his opponent twice in a row, the former flyweight competitor was fired from the UFC.

He then initially received his contract with the UFC after beating Allan Nascimento at DWCS in 2018. However, the UFC has recently parted ways with ten of its fighters and Paiva was one of them.

Despite his short UFC career, he has had some spectacular victories over his opponents, with a record of 26-21-5. His last match was on June 25, 2022 against Sergey Morozov, which he lost.
