Everything you need to know about the Rams . settlement

The lawsuit of the city of St. Louis against the Los Angeles Rams and NFL was settled after four years of controversy over the team’s relocation.

NS Rams has been settling back into Los Angeles since 2016 but during that time there was a bit of unfinished business with St. Louis hangs overhead.

In 2017, St. Louis filed a lawsuit against the Rams and the NFL. It was eventually settled out of court with the city due to a hefty payout.

The settlement between the city of St. Louis and the NFL is worth $790 million. The union and Rams owner Stan Kroenke still need to determine how much each will be financially responsible but they have 30 days to pay.

Mayor of St. Louis Tishuara O. Jones and county executive Sam Page released a joint statement about the settlement.

The city has yet to determine how the funds from the settlement will be distributed.

What is the Rams’ relocation lawsuit about?

St. Louis sued Kroenke and the NFL over how the Rams left the city for Los Angeles. Submitted in 2017, lawsuit accused the Rams of “failing to meet obligations imposed by the League’s relocation rules.”

The city argued that the Rams and NFL violated contracts, made false statements, interfered with business expectations, and improperly enriched themselves. They claim the relocation has cost St. Louis.

The lawsuit also argues that Kroenke and the NFL did not give the city a goodwill opportunity to keep the team.

They seek punitive damages and “any other necessary and appropriate relief.”

Is an expansion group coming to St. Louis?

Not now. The agreement does not include an agreement for an extended group, according to STL Today.
