Everything featured at today’s Nintendo Switch World Showcase

E3 correct could be canceled this year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get an E3 season. Nintendo kicked off today with a 20-minute direct focused on indie games coming to Switch in the coming weeks and months.
Before the showcase, fans lost their minds about a possible show for Hollow Knight: Silk Songthe highly-anticipated sequel to Team Cherry’s moody, beloved Metroidvania, Hollow Knight. Let’s just get that out of the way: silk song is still MIA.
But the event itself ran through a slew of intriguing looking games, including a handful released today. Here’s everything shown at Nintendo’s May 2022 Indie World Direct.
Ooblets coming to Switch this summer
Switch gets another pastel farming-themed life sim. Yes, Ooblets, previously only available for Xbox and PC, is coming to Nintendo’s handheld. Like this particular other Nintendo game, you can collect a number of creatures.
Batora: Lost Haven out this fall
Batora: Lost Havenwhich was first announced last year, is an isometric action RPG with a non-linear story and twin-stick combat.
ElecHead looks frighteningly cool
Made by a person ElecHead is a 2D puzzle platformer where you play as a battery person? The gimmick is that you can throw your head away from your body to reach places you otherwise couldn’t. Out this summer.
sound drop is a genre mashup that sounds fantastic
The songs of the summer are already set: it is the 140-song OST to sound drop, a co-op rhythm game out today. It’s also a loot shooter and takes place in a realm called Symphonia. (Stories of the Symphony‘s Kratos is nowhere to be seen, however.)
wildfrost is basically viking themed Kill the tower
Is it possible to have too many tactical roguelike deck builders? nope! This one is outside in winter.
TABS comes to the switch
The delightfully silly Absolutely accurate combat simulatorwho all just call TABScomes to the switch.
Gunbrella is exactly what it sounds like
Trains? Western outfits? Tight side scrolling action combat where you use an umbrella that’s also a weapon? Yes, Gunbrella shot straight to my most anticipated list. Unfortunately, sometime next year.
We are OFK comes to the switch
We are OFK, an episodic music storytelling game first announced for PlayStation and PC last year, is also coming to Switch. The art still looks rockin’. The music of the indie pop band OFK also rocks. No firm release date yet, but it’s planned for some time this summer.
silt has limbo vibrations
If you’re (rightly) afraid of the ocean, stay away silt, a 2D exploration game about exploring the deepest and spookiest parts of our planet. It has some delicious black and white visuals, a la limbo.
mini highways is on its way to the switch
NUMTOTs, rejoice! The excellent business game from Dinosaur Polo Club, mini highwayscoming to Switch later today.
Wayward beach will be released this summer
Wayward beach is a narrative adventure game about a floating hospital. Will probably break my heart. Releases on July 21st.
cult of the Lamb is a city building roguelike
Nintendo’s announcer said this game wasn’t “embarrassed,” but I refuse to indulge in such a pun. It’s a mix of dungeon crawling and city building in which you play as a sheep organizing a cult that will be released later this year.
Indie developer Aggro Crab is making a Soulslike
The makers of capitalism sim sink make a successor. It’s called Another crab’s treasure. You play as a crab and fight against… bigger crabs. “We give everyone what they want,” the developers said. “Crabs.”
Yes, there was a sizzle reel
Over the course of 57.2 seconds, Nintendo cycled through a number of smaller titles: one shot, Gibbon: Beyond the trees, idol manager, card shark, Cursed to golf, A Handbook to Babylonand the great Opus: Echo of the Star Song (available today!).
