Everyone expects the Pistons to trade Jerami Grant
Jerami Grant has been included in numerous NBA trade rumors over the past year. It sounds like he’s actually on the road this off-season.
Jerami Grant has thrived in his two seasons in Detroit, becoming the leading scorer for the first time in his career and averaging 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Detroit has spent this time tearing down the roster around him, however, and Grant’s offensive development and defensive versatility have made him a staple of trade rumors for most of his time with the Pistons.
His name has continued to be mentioned in connection with several teams and the latest buzz is that this time it’s almost certainly being traded.
Latest NBA trade rumors say everyone expects Jerami Grant to be traded
in the his latest NBA mock draftESPN’s Jonathan Givony ranked the Pistons at No. 5 along with Keegan Murray, citing the Jeramy Grant trade rumors as one of the main reasons:
Murray’s fit here looks strong, especially given the amount of trade talk surrounding power forward Jerami Grant. The incumbent is widely expected to be on the move this summer as he enters the final year of his contract and doesn’t appear to be on the same schedule as the rest of the Pistons’ squad.
Both the Trail Blazers and Kings are rumored to be looking to trade their picks for a win-now player, with Grant specifically mentioned as a target. Choosing #4 (Kings) or #7 (Blazers) would be tremendous value for the Pistons, and closing a deal may just depend on what else the Kings or Blazers would include and what other assets they would own from the Pistons may require put in the package.
It’s worth noting that Grant signed with the Pistons as a free agent because he wanted to play for a team that has an African American head coach and general manager, something neither the Kings nor the Blazers have.
