Everton supporters boo their players ahead of the derby

Next came the Merseyside Derby and to be fair, the mood among the Everton supporters was not as good as that of the Liverpool fans.

After a 0-1 defeat to Brentford, Rafa Benitez’s side are without a win in seven games and the pressure is on our former boss.

The Goodison game is the first game in 124 years where a manager who was in charge of both clubs will take part in the training as the Spaniard is set to repeat the feat of William Edward Barclay.

Both sides are in very different form and so Jurgen Klopp’s men will take precedence for the game but the old adage about form won’t come up in a derby, meaning it will certainly be a tough match.

Crossing Stanley Park is never fun because the tension and fear of losing on both sides often leads to a deadlock.

However; Revenge for last season’s injuries and setbacks, as well as our strong late-season form, hopefully means there’s enough to push us over the edge.

Fingers crossed to repeat scenes below in city blue, after Wednesday’s game.
