EVE Online sees another full-scale battle at X47L-Q, leaving the server groaning under the strain

Over 4,000 pilots from EVE Online woke up and chosen violence: This morning on our side of the globe, a mass of players from the Empire and B2 alliances butted heads in X47L-Q once again – the same battlefield where over 6,000 players fought each other a few weeks earlier.

A battle report from the battle shows just over 2,000 kills in battle at the time of writing, with over 700B ISK worth of in-game hardware lost to the internet space winds. And those numbers are likely to continue to rise.

Plans for this fight were shared last night, while actual execution appears to have been hampered by a not inconsiderable number of server issues; Many replies to CCP’s tweet indicate that weapons were refusing to time properly. Meanwhile, fan-run Imperium News Network shared live coverage of the battle.

Speaking of fan run things, players are pointed in the direction of a personal meeting in New Orleans between April 21st and 23rd. Held at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter, the event promises events like a crawfish cook-up, brunch, and a jazz cruise on a riverboat, though some of these activities require separate ticket purchases. Ideally, people enjoy the jazz and the crawfish and don’t bring interstellar politics to the party. There are Jazz and Crawfish on tap, folks.
