ESPN’s John Clayton Says There’s No Truth to Russell Wilson Rumors

John Clayton of 710 ESPN Seattle says there’s absolutely no way the Seattle Seahawks trade Russell Wilson this season.

The NFL season will be dominated by quarterback, especially on the trading block. One name that has appeared is Russell Wilson of Seattle Seahawks Football Team, looking at last season’s reports. But did the team really choose to switch from Wilson.

During an appearance on Sports 1140 KHTK’s “The Nick Cattles Show,” ESPN’s John Clayton of ESPN Seattle NFL 710 said it was unlikely Wilson would be traded this season, citing that the team would lose five battles. Winning could happen without him and they would eat a terrible amount of dead money.

John Clayton on trading opportunities with Russell Wilson: ‘None’

In addition to the dead money the Seahawks will make when dealing with him, they just paid Wilson a $5 million bounty on Friday.

Wilson created a stir on social media, as he reviewed his Twitter account for any mention of the Seahawks. Does this mean he’s definitely gone? Is not. This happens in professional sports.

The Seahawks are about to have a 2021 season where they finish last in the NFC West with a 7-10 record. Wilson missed three games due to a right finger injury. The Seahawks not only watched their three NFC West opponents make the knockout round, but also the San Francisco 49ers make it to the NFC Championship Game and the Los Angeles Rams win Super Bowl 56.

Wilson threw 3,113 yards, 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 64.8% of his passes.

Will Wilson be trading this holiday season? John Clayton doesn’t see that happening.
