Errol Spence vs. Yordenis Ugas official weigh-in results

Three of the four major world welterweight championships in professional boxing are at stake when WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence meets WBA (Super) champion Yordenis Ugas in a unification contest at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on April 16.

Before both men could reach the ring, however, they first had to get through the weigh-in.

Both Spence and Ugas successfully made weight for their joint title fight.

Spence has been the 147-pound champion of the IBF since 2017 when he defeated Kell Brook in England. He has since defended the belt five times, and he added the WBC title to his mantle when he defeated Shawn Porter in a thrilling unification bout in September 2019.

Spence last competed in December 2020 – Spence’s first fight since his car accident in October 2019 – with a unanimous decision victory over Danny Garcia to retain the IBF and WBC titles.

Spence and Manny Pacquiao were originally scheduled to compete for Spence’s title in August 2021, but an eye injury forced Spence out of the fight.

He was replaced in that fight by Ugas, who had won the WBA (regular) welterweight title in September 2020 before being promoted to WBA (Super) champion in early 2021 due to the inactivity of then-Super champion Pacquiao.

In a major upset, Ugas scored a decision victory over Pacquiao to retain the WBA title.

A free tackle broadcast on Showtime prior to the pay-per-view will also feature the WBA Regular Welterweight Title on the line as Radzhab Butaev takes on Eimantas Stanionis.
