Erin Molan’s ‘naked’ dress photo sparks heated debate

Radio host Erin Molan has hit back after receiving criticism for a dress she proudly posed in on Instagram.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a photo in what some are calling a “naked” black sheer dress.

The asymmetrical dress left little room for imagination, with many of her 185,000 followers divided on the dress.

Meanwhile, others were more critical of Molan’s stunning ensemble.

“Erin, you don’t need a dress like that. “You are a beautiful woman,” wrote one commenter.

“You’re better than that Erin,” wrote another.

“You are such a stunningly beautiful woman 🔥🔥 You don’t have to wear such an outfit. You are way too classy ❤️❤️,” agreed another.

“Why don’t you just post a nude photo? God,” was one particularly harsh comment.

On Monday, Molan spoke to radio co-host Dave “Hughsey” Hughes about the negative feedback.

“Why does what I’m wearing or a dress I’m wearing let someone else down or interfere with the kind of person I am?” she asked them 2DAYFM radio show, Hughsey, Ed and Erin.

“If it’s people who like me for my work on social media, fighting bullying, or my charity work.”

Hughsey noted that “it would be ironic if they bullied you because they respect your anti-bullying work”.

Laughing, he explained that the only opinion Molan should care about is that of her “lover.”

The presenter asked Molan what her boyfriend, whose identity has been kept secret, thought of the post.

“Oh, I knew you would do that!” The mother-of-one laughed as she considered her response.

“You should have checked with me, you know… OK, he…”

“He didn’t like it?” Hughsey laughed.

Molan shared that he told her that “you can see everything.”

“He’s quite conservative, he thinks it’s beautiful, he thinks I’m beautiful, but he’d much rather I wear a habit,” she said.

The post comes after Molan opened up about how 50 is the new 30 after being criticized on social media for trying to dress younger.

“There’s a whole group now and I know they’re celebrities and I know they have help,” she began on her radio show.

“But sorry, being 50 now is like 30, 20 to 50 years ago.

“Women look amazing. We are not old when we are 30, 40, 50, 60.”

She also referenced Nicole Kidman, 56, Nicole Scherzinger, 45, and Jeff Bezos’ fiancee Lauren Sánchez, 53.

“She wears bikinis, she wears cleavages, she wears everything,” Molan said of Sanchez’s style.

“What about JLo!” She continued.

“I’m 39 and I get comments like, ‘Are you trying to look young?'”

“No, sorry, I wear what I feel like, what makes me feel good, which makes me feel great in a world that’s always trying to make us all feel like shit.

“So, wear what you want, do what you want, dress how you want.

“If you look great, great; if you don’t look great, great.

“If you feel great, great. Who cares?”

She ended her message by urging listeners to “stop judging!”

“Who cares? Feel good, wear what you like, wear a little cleavage, midriff or thong if you like, when you’re 90, who cares?
