A roll of vintage 1906 footage has been enhanced and colorized, taking viewers on a journey down Market Street. The footage was taken from a cable car a few days before the great San Francisco earthquake. Four days before to be exact. This footage was taken on April 14, 1906. On April 18, the city lay in ruins and burned.
New version of footage San Francisco 1906, A Trip Down Market Street, taken on April 14, 1906, four days before the San Francisco earthquake and fire.
I liked how at the end a guy running isn’t paying attention and has to quickly dodge the trolly before hitting it. There are some nasty looking nuns in the last shot too!
The video has been enhanced by NASS along with the colour, the video has also been enhanced with sound and the film speed has been increased to 60fps. That is so cool! Listen!
