Since 2013, Disney’s Frozen yes reigns supreme as one of the biggest animated Disney movies around. Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff warmed everyone’s hearts, as did the film’s catchy songs. However, one of them, in particular, has made waves. “Let It Go” became one of Disney’s most popular songs, peaking at #5 on Billboards Hot 100. However, Encanto Yes finally broke that record. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is the first Disney animated song in 26 years to reach No. 4.
Each song is a poignant part of the movie, but with different reasons and meanings. Eg, Frozen’s “Let It Go” is a ballad of increasing power, the first time Elsa truly embraces her icy powers when she creates a tower for herself to live on. It’s a big moment in the movie and a song that showcases a considerable range of emotions and vocals.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is a very different song because it focuses on Mirabel, desperate to know more about her uncle Bruno, a relative who went missing years ago. The rest of the family refused to talk about him, but many relatives had horror stories about Bruno’s predictions about their future and how they came true.
Unlike “Let it go,” Singed only by Elsa, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” features some of the film’s main characters in an ensemble performance. While “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” makes more sense in the film’s story than as a separate single, it’s still an enjoyable song that’s easy enough to follow without even watching the movie.
Disney has been known to create huge hit songs which became a classic. Therefore, Disney’s music is appreciated and Encanto filled with an excellent soundtrack alongside an emotional story and fun characters. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has been making its mark on fans, and with its catchy tune, the song certainly deserves the praise and reaction it has received.
