Emergency lockdown at Booval in Ipswich due to police ‘ongoing operation’

Four roads in Ipswich near Brisbane have been closed due to an unknown emergency.
Queensland Police issued the state of emergency Tuesday over an “ongoing operation” in Booval.
Brisbane Road, Alexander Street, Clifton Street and Bergin Street have been declared restricted zones.

The statement was around 5 p.m.
“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the restricted zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice,” police said in a statement.
The police did not provide any further information.
