New York Jets Safety Elijah Riley suffered a neck injury that immobilized him on the field. In the third quarter of the game Jets’ with Miami Dolphins, Riley tried to stop the Dolphins’ running back to Duke Johnson, collided with a teammate and failed to get up after playing. He was dropped from the game and disqualified.
Riley was restrained by a Jets paramedic as he was taken off the field, every ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Dolphin Player their solidarity proposal when the staff took him off the field. He lifted one hand as he exited the field.

Riley, a New York native, is in his first year with the Jets after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as an untrained free agent in 2020. The 23-year-old Army product was played in four games for New York this season, scoring 28 total balls and a sack.
New York signed Riley due to their other injuries. Head Coach Robert Saleh explain What makes him such a quality addition:
“Elijah is a very smart guy,” said head coach Robert Saleh, adding that he is a “ball magnet” in reality. “He saw the game very well. He is a student of the game, constantly learning. He’s a phenomenal communicator, preset and post-installer. He has very high eye discipline. And when he activated it, it was like a bat flying out of hell.”
The Jets, with a 3-10 score going into today’s game, ended their season without the possibility of reaching the knockout stages.
