Electrolux Home Products Beefeater refrigerator sold at Bing Lee and JB Hi-Fi urgently recalled due to fire hazard

A popular kitchen appliance has received an urgent recall over fears it could start a fire.
Electrolux Home Products’ faulty Beefeater fridge products could harm consumers, Australia’s Competition and Consumer Commission said on Tuesday.

Among the refrigerators sold nationally and internationally, the one-door and two-door versions are designed for outdoor use.
“Water can penetrate the sealed electrical control board at the back of the refrigerator,” the ACCC warned.
“The refrigerator can cause a fire that can injure consumers and cause property damage.”
Only model numbers BS28200 and BS28130 with serial numbers from 72900000 to 95299999 and 00100000 to 04599999 sold at the following retailers are affected:

Consumers with questionable products should immediately turn off the refrigerator, unplug it and contact Electrolux to arrange a free repair.
