Elden ring Players have discovered no shortage of opportunities to mourn each other in PVP, but one exploit on PC was particularly insidious. It allowed players to trap opponents in an endless death loop that would effectively ruin their saved files. Not good! Luckily, developer FromSoftware finally fixed the bug in a small update to the game, which went live earlier today.

“Fixed a bug in multiplayer that allowed players to teleport others to the wrong map coordinates,” reads one of the notes in the Mini 1.03.2 patch. Bandai Namco didn’t elaborate on how the bug worked, whether players who abused it would be banned, or what would happen to players who already used it. The publisher did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A PSA of a Elden ring News account warns players about the exploit exploded on Twitter last week, on March 18th. “An exploit is circulating on the PC that allows hackers to corrupt your save file while under attack,” it said. “First they will crash your game, and when you open it again your character will keep falling to his death…”

The exploit consisted of teleporting unsuspecting players to areas outside the map’s boundaries, where they would die within seconds. Reloading the game gave the same result. It wasn’t clear how the players did it or how widespread the problem wasbut quite a few people affected by the exploit shared footage of their predicament online.

They also shared possible workarounds, one of which involved clenching Alt and F4 to immediately close the game and gain some extra time after reopening it so players can open the map and try to fast travel out of the loop. However, it’s not clear if this worked for every affected player or if today’s patch will help those who have already fallen victim to the problem Elden ring “Prank.”

In the month since publication Elden ring has already received two major updates and sold over 12 million copies. More importantly, players will continue to find all sorts of wild things buried in its immersive and occasionally broken open world, complete with guides Make your horse fly by killing it first.
