Eduardo Rodriguez leaves the team for ‘personal reasons’

Tigers pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, who was returning from injury, will not return to Detroit because of “personal matters.”
It looked like Eduardo Rodriguez was about to return to the team tiger Rotation after landing on the IL with a rib cage sprain, but life threw him and the team a curveball.
The pitcher will not rejoin the team “at this time” while he attends to “personal matters,” the team said Monday.
“Eduardo Rodríguez has informed the club that he will not be rejoining the team at this time due to personal reasons. As a result, Eduardo has been placed on the blacklist until further notice,” GM Al Avila said in an opinion.

No details were given on the nature of Rodriguez’s personal concern. There has been speculation about his social media activity that gives a clue.
Rodriguez had just completed a rehab start for the Toledo Mudhens, going four innings scoreless with just two hits and nine strikeouts. It was exactly the performance Tigers fans could have hoped for from the pitcher, who signed a $77 million contract with the team in November 2021.
He’s gone 1-3 in eight appearances this season with a 4.38 ERA. He last played against the Rays on May 18 and left the game with an injury.
The Tigers are 24-35 and sit fourth in the AL Central. This season hasn’t gone nearly as they hoped, and this setback won’t help much to get that close an unwanted injury update on Casey Mize.
