Eddie Kingston on How He Deals With Veteran Wrestler Who Won’t Shake His Hand

AEW wrestler Eddie Kingston was recently a special guest on Swerve City Podcast. While using Swerve Podcasts, Kingston discussed the anger he brought with him for most of his life, and how it affected him.

“I was just angry because of my childhood reasons. Do you understand what I mean? So I carried, so I carried that anger with me everywhere I went. Whatever it was, so it always weighed on me,” said Kingston. “I’ve always felt as if I’ve been weighed down on my chest for half my life. Because I just carried all this anger with me since middle school, you know what I mean? ”

Eddie Kingston has been independent for most of his wrestling career, working for various commercials such as CZW, GCW, etc… Kingston told a story about how a veteran wouldn’t shake his hand, and what he did to upset the wrestler.

“I won’t say who it was, because we’re great, but there was a time when someone didn’t shake my hand in the dressing room in the dressing room,” explains Kingston. “So instead of me just like, let it pass, I used to follow him into the bathroom and wait outside the bathroom and say, ‘Hey man, what’s going on?’ Or I would say, right before his wrestling matches, I would ask: ‘Hey man, what’s the matter?’ Only to see him shake my hand and talk to him. ”

Kingston discussed the chip on his shoulder that he feels he has had his whole life. His anger resurfaced again, and he explained how he used that in wrestling for good.

“The chip was on my shoulder just because I was a mixed-race kid,” he said. “That’s it. That’s the origin of that chip. So whatever I do in life, whether it’s pro wrestling, auto repair or ironwork, I have a chip because that.

“All that other stuff, that regret and hatred, I used it in wrestling, for my pitches, you know what I mean? But I also use wrestling as an escape from all that, from that world.”

Kingston also admitted that he smokes weed. Kingston talked about why he did it and how it worked for him.

“I smoke weed,” Kingston said. “I smoke because it helps. Look, I’m not going to lie, I’m going to say it right here. I smoke weed because it helps my body and it also makes me depressed. ”
