Early game selection for Badgers

When Paul Chryst and the Wisconsin team form in 2022, what can fans expect from the Badgers this season?

The Wisconsin Badgers were able to consistently succeed under the leadership of Paul Chryst. At the end of his seventh season with the Badgers, Chryst took home another bleak victory and came close to a double-digit win again.

The Wisconsin offensive will enter 2022 with some potential thanks to a young, talented run-in and a quarterback who, although inconsistent, has ended up having a complete competitive season to work together. Can the Badgers take a significant step forward next season?

Predicting too early in 2022: 9-3

In addition to some exciting road competitions, Wisconsin has a relatively easy schedule to follow. The Big Ten is a solid conference and there are definitely challenging teams that will do anything to surprise the Badgers, but if they win every game they have to, Chryst and his team will eat. celebrate another successful season in 2022 .

The first few games will be pretty easy. Welcoming Washington State to the city will provide a fun contest that will be an underrated game worth watching, but Wisconsin must lead 3-0 before reaching Columbus.

That road trip to Ohio State, however, probably won’t be much fun for Wisconsin. The Buckeyes are a remarkable team and it’s hard to predict it’s a win for Wisconsin.

Badgers are good enough to bounce back in the next few weeks before taking the road trip to Michigan State. Whether the Spartans can continue to improve with Mel Tucker, or maybe they’ll step back a bit this season, it’s hard to predict given the small sample size during Tucker’s time there. The game is a bounce, but with it on the way, Michigan State has a nice edge there.

The trip to Iowa at the end of the season is another game the Badgers are likely to win, but it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the Hawkeyes successfully defended their home ground against the Badgers.

If Braelon Allen can continue to be exceptional and Graham Mertz can progress and improve in the future, this season has the potential to turn out to be a pretty good one for the Badgers. Wisconsin always seems to have some promise, and the Badgers could very well be on the high end this season. A double-digit win is not out of the realm of possibility for this team.

Of course, if Mertz can’t make this offense two-way, the Badgers may not be able to break through and find success beyond knocking opponents to dust. We’ll see how it plays out in 2022.
