Eagles WR Devon Allen shines on the course; runs third faster 110m hurdles in history » FirstSportz

Devon Allen is the wide receiver for the Eagles in the NFL this year, but a track meet on Sunday reminded the world he’s also a gifted athlete. Allen ran the third fastest time in the 110 meter hurdles in world history. Allen has also been to the Olympics twice, finishing fifth in Rio in 2016 and fourth in Tokyo last summer.
Allen ran the 110 meter hurdles in 12.84 seconds at the New York Grand Prix in New York on Sunday. Not only did he win the race with ease, but he also set the third fastest time in history – only behind Aries Merritt, who set the world record of 12.80 seconds in 2012. Allen has also played soccer and signed with the Eagles this year.

“When I do that much – like football and athletics, trying to balance the two – I have to be really conscious of my recovery, my sleep, my diet and all of those things.” Allen told NBCSports.com. “So it locked me in a little bit more, and obviously it’s working.”
Allen is aiming to host the Worlds in July as well, but will then immediately volunteer for the Eagles camp to continue his bid for a spot in the NFL. On April 8, 2022, the day after he was brought to their training facility, Allen signed a standard three-year no-draft rookie contract with the Eagles.
