Eagles’ DeVonta Smith Survives Losing to Giants

DeVonta Smith was upset at the end of the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, and it’s easy to see why.

Smith is Philly’s No 1 scorer this season, with 46 catches for 664 yards in Sunday’s game. But he was barely a factor when his Eagles blew up in the 13-7 loss.

Smith has only twice caught four targets for 22 yards. He had three touchdown catches in his team’s previous three games and at least four catches in each of those three games.

Not only was Smith barely targeted against the Giants, but Jalen Hurts locked down Jalen Reagor instead. He continued to seek out Reagor during the group’s last trip and never targeted Smith. Hurts also reached out to Kenneth Gainwell.

Smith was so frustrated he threw his helmet to the side of the road after his last drive.
