Eagle-eyed fans shout out details in Brisbane Lions’ AFL jumper vs Collingwood: ‘Absolutely pathetic’

AFL fans were puzzled by an odd detail in Brisbane’s sweater during their blockbuster against Collingwood on Thursday night.

The Lions wore a special limited edition Guernsey to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their 2003 Dreipeat.

It is the third year in a row that the club have released a special jumper to revisit the glory days of the early 2000s.

“The back of the Guernsey is unmissable and features a black and white image of the MCG which, together with the two previous releases on the big final day, forms a full panoramic shot of the MCG,” the club explained on its website.

“The name of each Premiership player is included in the number, as is a picture of the unforgettable team that brought home the silver on that momentous day in 2003.”

But that picture on the back pushed the numbers up, making them look awfully small.

This can be clearly seen in comparison to the sweaters of the previous weeks.

Fans were quick to call out the discrepancy on Twitter.

“Why are Brisbane’s jumper numbers so low? Looks absolutely pathetic,” said one fan.

“Brisbane numbers look oddly small tonight,” added another.

Coincidentally, Collingwood manager Craig McRae featured on the jumper after he was a member of the Lions’ Premiership team in 2003.
