There is a general rule for the following statuses: if the status indicator is yellow you will be buffed, but if it is red you will be weakened a bit. Remember that one of these little circles will appear on your screen.
Blessed
Blessed is displayed as a yellow triangle, indicating that you are affected by a survivor boon benefit. If the Blessing Totem is purified, you lose the effect.
blindness
Blindness appears as an eyeball, meaning your aura reading abilities have been disabled.
bloodthirst
Killers with the bloodlust saber-tooth skull icon move faster during longer chases. Killers lose Bloodlust when hitting a Survivor or being stunned by a Palette.
Broken
The defect status is indicated by a white cross that is crossed out. This indicates that a Survivor is under the effect of a benefit or power that makes them unable to be healed back to health. The most they can achieve is the injured state.
Cursed
A triangle similar to the blessed icon, but indicates that you are being negatively affected by a perk. Scatter the companion totem to get rid of it.
deep wound
Deep Wound’s icon features a man who has been cut and your screen will dim. You have a short time to heal yourself or you will be put into the state of dying.
persistence
Endurance is the same icon as the Deep Wound man but without the cut. This means a Survivor can take a hit from the Killer without changing their status.
Exhausted
Exhausted’s icon shows an almost empty heart. This shows that you are on a cooldown before you can use an Exhausted effect again.
Exposed
Exposed is a skull and means that the killer can hit you with one shot and put you in the state of dying.
bleeding
A bleed looks like a drop of blood and means your Survivor is bleeding profusely to leave a mark. You will also slowly lose healing progress over time if you stop healing.
Hurry
Haste is a shoe with wings. Both sides can get this, and it simply means you can move faster.
Listen
Hearing is an ear icon, which means all sounds will be muffled for you and replaced with a high-pitched tone until you’re done.
hindered
Hindered’s symbol is a ball and chain. It’s the opposite of haste, meaning Survivor moves slower than normal.
incapacitated
Appears only against The Twins and is denoted by a handcuffed hand. When Victor jumps on you, you cannot interact with generators, items, other survivors, hooks, or totems.
insanity
Appears only against The Doctor and is referred to as Brain. Indicates that the killer has affected your sanity and allows you to see different illusions depending on the severity of the effect and makes skill checks more difficult.
mutilated
Mangled is a bone broken in half. Makes it heal enough that Survivor takes longer.
unaware
Oblivious is an icon of a man with a hand over his eyes. This means you can’t hear the killer’s terror radius, so you won’t hear a heartbeat when he’s nearby.
sleep penalty
Sleep Penalty looks like a person resting their head on their arms. This makes it take longer to wake up sleeping survivors.
Undetectable
Undetectable is an icon of a great killer. It prevents Survivors from hearing the Killer’s terror radius, cannot see their aura, and removes the Red Spot (the red light directly in front of the Killer).
vision
Vision is another eye icon, but it will be a yellow icon since it’s good. This improves your aura reading skills.
