EA is shutting down online features for Mirror’s Edge, Red Alert 3 and more in the coming months

EA has updated its online service shutdown page, which details several of its titles that are losing online functionality in the near future.

On November 9th, online services for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for Xbox 360 (including the Kane’s Wrath expansion) will be discontinued.

Red Alert 3, as I’m sure you all know, is best known for Tim Curry’s effusive proclamation that he’s heading into space as the only place not corrupted by capitalism. This is always a fun clip to watch.

Online features for Mercenaries 2 (PS3 and Xbox 360) will also be discontinued on the same date.

Over the course of the next month, and as we previously reported, on November 30th, the racing game OnRush will lose its online capabilities.

Then, as we head into December (I can’t believe how close we are actually to the end of this year), Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings and Super Mega Baseball 3 (both for Luna+) will be their online features to lose.

Finally, on January 19th, the Gatling Gears, Mirror’s Edge, NBA Jam On Fire Edition, and Shank 2 online servers will be closed.

Speaking of EA games, as previously announced, The Sims 4 is free-to-play today.
