Dying Light 2 Stay Human: How to kill a Flutter and get the title/achievement Night Hunter

Volatiles are one of the deadliest infected enemies in Dying Light 2 Stay Human, as you’ll know if you run into them. They’re big, tough, nimble, nimble, and worst of all, they deal tons of damage. This is why you get a title/achievement, namely Night Hunter, if you only kill one of them.

There are many ways to kill a Flutter in Dying Light 2 Stay Human. An effective tactic is to get a cooperation partner to distract it while you hack it to pieces from behind. Another strategy is to enhance UV equipment, such as UV Flashlight and UV Bars, and use them to keep it active. But this guide is about the strategy we used to kill not one but four Volatile, all in one go.

First of all, unless you’re playing co-op, you’ll definitely need a ranged weapon. You don’t want to enter melee with a Clash – you’ll lose. We used Crossbow PK, and found Freeze Bolts to be the most useful ammo. ONE regular bow with any elemental arrow, except for the Poison and Infection arrows, which have no effect against Infected, will do the job. It’s also worth stocking up on combat accessories like mines, C4s, and molotovs. You will need all the firepower you can get.

Now, we killed our Volatile at the Newalls Crossing subway station. We assume the same tactics will work in other Metro Stations, but if you want to follow this guide closely, go for it. It is important that if you arrive at the Metro Station without turning on the electricity and going during the day, you are likely to encounter a lot of Volatile.

Anyway, assuming you’re entering the Newalls Crossing Metro, go down the escalator and duck down the gate. This port will be very useful later. There will be various Infected in this first area, but no volatiles, so use melee attacks to eliminate them. You don’t want to waste your ammo and accessories on easy targets. The Volatiles are on Platform A, so follow the sign to the east, place mines on the floor if you have one. Turn right at the end and you will see some Infected People on the platform. You may not see the Volatiles as they are further away, but they are definitely there.

Now jump over the railing onto the roof of the small kiosk below. From here you should be able to see Volatile on the right hand side. Shoot at it a few times then… RUN! Turn around, jump up, and run back to the gate you came down from earlier. Running backwards is slower, but means you can shoot at an Infected who is chasing you. This is where the Freezing Bolts are especially useful. If you don’t have Freeze Bolts, you will have to dodge Volatility attacks. You can get the First kill while backing towards the portal, but you won’t kill all of them, so make sure you get under that portal. Volatiles cannot follow you under it, but you can still shoot them through the void.
