DUI Suspected in Spectacular Early Saturday Morning Crash in Napa – CBS San Francisco

NAPA (CBS SF) – A motorist suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle veered off Highway 29 Saturday morning, hitting several vehicles below. road and ends on a 12-foot high storage shed.
According to Napa CHP PIO Marc Renspurger, speed and substance use likely played a role in the crash.

“We estimate he ran better than 60 mph,” said Renspurger. “He hit two white vans and then a blue truck and a trailer and caused serious damage to three of them.”
The accident happened around 5:15 am and the last car overturned on the roof of the warehouse
“This is like a movie set,” said Francisco Navarro, who works at the warehouse. “Seeing a car on top of the container.”

He said a similar accident happened at the dump last year.
“He (the driver) was taken to the hospital with minor injuries,” Renspurger said. “While at the hospital, he was arrested for a DUI.”
No other injuries have been reported.

Renspurger said they are sending a trailer and a crane to remove the vehicle.
