The NBA has fined Warriors forward Draymond Green for the obscene gesture he made to Grizzlies fans in Game 2.
Draymond Green laughed at the idea of being fined for showing the bird to fans in Memphis in Game 2 of the Warriors-Grizzlies playoff series.
Committed to the NBA.
On Thursday, the league announced a $25,000 fine for Green

Green flipped the middle finger at Grizzlies fans, who mocked him as he walked into the dressing room for treatment for a cut eye. He didn’t mince his words after the game and doubled down on his actions.
“You’re going to boo someone who’s got an elbow in their eye and their face is bloody, you should be freaked out,” he said. “I’ll take the punishment. I’ll do a gig and raise the money. It felt really good to turn them off. . . . If they’re going to be wicked like that, I’ll be wicked too. I suppose the cheering came because they know I’m going to be fined. Great, I make $25 million a year. I should be fine.”
So Green was pretty much right. The fine is a drop in the ocean compared to what he earns in a season. The NBA had to punish him somehow, but that’s not exactly money not to do it again.
Green and the Warriors are tied with the Grizzlies 1-1. It was already an eventful series after Green was questionably knocked out of Game 1 with a Flagrant 2.
Then early in Game 2, Dillon Brooks knocked out Gary Payton II in midair, resulting in a broken elbow for the Golden State guard. Brooks has been suspended for Game 3, which is due on Saturday.
