Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s possible lack of crowd control is causing fear among fans

Fans looking for even a little good Dragon Age: Dreadwolf gossip will probably want to sit down and take a breath. The next installment in the franchise has been in development for quite some time, but players have received only the tiniest bit of information when it comes to the title. Short cinematic trailers have given fans clues as to the narrative, but Bioware hasn’t even shown a teaser of the gameplay yet. Anonymous sources are now claiming that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s 2023 release date could be a fever dream, while also mentioning that the combat is inspired by Final Fantasy XV, giving players less tactical control over their party members.
Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson has reportedly spoken to several anonymous sources about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, and the picture doesn’t exactly stand out. While the title follows the gameplay beats established from previous games in the franchise, it appears to be moving even further into hack-and-slash territory. In terms of micromanaging your party members, players cannot control them directly. Instead, they’re only allowed to issue commands similar to Mass Effect.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf also seems to be taking longer than expected to get its features right. While the multiplayer component has been cut, sources claim that the game still maintains a multiplayer feel by having a central hub where the player embarks on missions via teleporting mirrors. These missions are also used for recruiting companions in the hub, who can be equipped with gear and spoken to in typical Bioware fashion.

The game reportedly still has plenty of missing lyrics and unrecorded voice lines, meaning the likelihood of it launching in 2023 is up in the air. Players may have to wait until the following year to get a taste of this next Bioware adventure.
