Dorinda Clark-Cole defends Beyoncé with Twinkie Sample on new album after Bishop beat up the singer

beyonce has definitely been a topic of discussion ever since the release of her seventh studio album, titled “Renaissance”. Despite his astronomical success, including landing all 16 dance tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, not everyone applauds his energy.

The Grammy Award-winning singer was the focus of another conversation when Church Bishop Patrick Wotten took a moment during the sermon to condemn one of the album’s many standout tracks, “Church Girl.”

A mix of R&B, gospel, Chicago hip-hop, and southern hip-hop, the track features lyrics like “Drop it like a thotty,” but most importantly, it includes a sample of the legendary siblings’ “Center Of Thy Will.” Gospel group The Clark Sisters.

“Beyoncé just published Da Vinci Code,” Bishop Wooten explained in a new clip on social media. “The only thing I can explain for some of these things is that someone sold their soul to the devil. All I can tell you now is, if you sell your soul to the devil, you get the short end of the stick.” Elsewhere, he called the song “trash” and that repeating its lyrics out loud would be a “profanation.”

Ahead of the album’s release, the group’s lead singer, Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark, took to her online platform to thank the Houston native for using the ’80s hit. “Thank you Beyonce for hearing my music and I hope it blesses your soul,” Clark told the ‘Break My Soul’ singer in a video message.

However, after Bishop’s harsh remark, Dorinda Clark-Cole echoed those sentiments and, with a laugh in her voice, urged the critics to “leave Beyoncé alone.”

As they sang “Ha Ya,” another of their classic hits, sampled on Jay-Z’s “Family Feud” song, the gospel figure shared, “Alright, now. Leave Beyoncé alone. Leave her alone’ before singing the lyrics ‘Center of His Will’. She added: “Leave her alone. As long as she has something in it, that’s fine. Amen.”

Fans on social media erupted at the reaction, including one Twitter user who wrote: “Therefore I will always be a Dorinda Grace Clark-Cole-Stan when the Clarks do nothing else they go praise God and love Beyoncé. “
