Donovan Mitchell’s sincere message to Rudy Gay after debut

NS Utah Jazz consecutive wins after defeat Toronto Raptors in Salt Lake City, 119-103. Thursday night’s match saw the debut of veteran swinger Rudy Gay, who has contributed greatly to the Jazz’s career.
In 18 minutes of playing on the floor, the 35-year-old scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Gay shot the ball very well, 7/8 from the field with 5 3-pointers to warm up. His pounding performance didn’t overcome his Spider-Man feel Donovan Mitchell, who expressed his excitement on Twitter.

Mitchell can’t help but be a fan of Gay – for good reasons. Before the Jazz star’s keeper entered the league, Gay was already considered one of the better wingers in the NBA. The former University of Connecticut standout was also consistent as they boosted his teams’ scores.
In his 15 years as a professional, the Jazz forward has never finished a season with a single-digit average. Unfortunately, his numbers don’t translate into much success from the team’s point of view. However, one cannot blame it all on Gay.
In Utah, he has a big chance to go deep into post-season. The Jazz held the NBA best regular season record in 2020-21, losing the playoffs at the hands of the LA Clippers. However, Gay made the Jazz’s bench more dangerous as another player was able to kick the ball himself next to Jordan Clarkson.
Their presence allowed Utah’s offense to keep clicking even when Mitchell took a break from the game. This must have been one of the things that got the prolific keeper so excited to welcome his new teammate to Utah.
