While many may focus elsewhere, Buffalo Bills defender Josh Allen continues to have a stellar season. Does he deserve to be the NFL’s MVP?
Josh Allen is an important character in Buffalo Bills success this year. The 25-year-old midfielder hasn’t always been the most consistent player ever, but he was able to help raise the Bills when he was at his best.
What he did against the New England Patriots Sunday was pretty close to his cap. In the 33-21 win over New England, Allen completed 63.8% of his passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns while avoiding any interceptions.
But this game isn’t just good for Allen. If you look at his progress so far this season in general, Allen has been really good.
Going into Sunday’s game against the Patriots, Allen threw 3,734 yards and 31 touchdowns from 12 interceptions. He also completes 65.2% of his passes. Along with that, Allen ran 555 yards and 4 more touchdowns.
But will that be enough to help him win this year’s MVP?
NFL MVP Race: Will Josh Allen be crowned NFL MVP this season?
Allen is having a solid season and Bills fans should be delighted with how their quarterback has developed to this point in his career. However, he may not make it past the crowded field of NFL MVP contenders this season. Allen simply hasn’t done enough, even with this performance against the Patriots.
With the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Jonathan Taylor, and Patrick Mahomes are both competing this season, Allen may be facing too much time climbing with too little time left to make a difference.
