Dick Vitale’s first tweet after Kansas won the national title was great

Dick Vitale had the perfect response to Kansas winning the national championship over UNC: “Lawrence, Kansas is the party town USA BABY!”

Hall of Fame analyst Dick Vitale always seems to find the most exciting way to express himself.

He pulled that off via text Monday night after Kansas made an exciting comeback against UNC to win the national title.

As the Jayhawks celebrated their triumph, Vitale took to Twitter to salute them.

Dick Vitale had the perfect Kansas National Championship tweet

“Tip @KUHoops for a brave comeback (15 on half) to win the 2022 @MarchMadnessMBB NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP via an outstanding @UNC_Basketball Five. Yes Lawrence, Kansas is the party town USA BABY!”

That wasn’t the only thing Vitale had to say about the comeback. He broke it down for the people at home.

“@KUHoops made the biggest comeback in national championship history as CHRISTIAN BRAUN scored after halftime in a 30-10 run to give them the lead. Then REMY MARTIN made it big with 2 3 as @UNC_Basketball regrouped. Finally DAVID McCORMACK with 2 fabulous tracks.”

Even though they opened the game 9-0, Kansas found themselves deep in a hole by the end of the first half. They were 40-25 behind North Carolina at halftime after going several minutes without scoring.

They responded in the second half, taking the lead away from the Tar Heels until they took the lead with a three-pointer from Remy Martin with 10 minutes to go.

They maintained that lead until Brady Manek hit a shot to take a 69-68 lead with 1:41 to go. Again, the Jayhawks responded and scored the last four points of the game to secure the 72-69 win.
