Diaper cream recall: Popular buy from Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse and pharmacies due to reaction anxiety

A major brand of diaper cream sold at Woolworths, Coles and Chemist Warehouse has been urgently recalled from stores nationwide.

Curash diaper cream has been withdrawn from major supermarkets and pharmacies across the country over fears of a side effect.

Consumers were urged to search their homes for the recalled cream, lot numbers 1116727 and 1118263.

It was available in hundreds of stores across Australia from 23 June 2022 to 2 February 2033.

“Church & Dwight has become aware of potential side effects associated with the use of products from two lots of Curash Nappy Rash Cream (lot numbers 1116727 AND 1118263),” the company said in a statement.

“As a precautionary measure, we are recalling both batches.”

Why it was recalled

The company said there have been reports of people having problems with the recalled cream.

“Some people have reported a possible side effect after using the two batches,” it said.

“Some individuals have reported increased skin sensitivity, redness, and/or rash after using products from the two lots.

“The symptoms subsided after the affected skin was washed with water.”

What to do

7NEWS.com.au understands that two recalled batches may have been available in major supermarket retailers and pharmacies across the country.

Customers have been urged to take the following steps if they have a recalled product.

1. Consumers should stop using products from the two lots (1116727 and 1118263) immediately.

2. Please return the product to the store where you purchased the product for a refund.

Alternatively, customers can return the product to this address: Reply Paid 87447, Church & Dwight (Australia) Pty Ltd, PO Box 83, Frenchs Forest NSW 1640. If posting please send the product, your name and contact details in an unstamped envelope . A retailer gift card will then be sent to you as a refund upon receipt of the product.
