Destiny 2 takes a deep dive into the weapon updates coming in Lightfalls Season 20

A new extension for destiny 2 means there will be a new season, which also means there will be changes to how weapons do their shooter thing, a topic that has been covered extensively in Bungie’s latest dev blog.
Broadly speaking, Season 20 focuses on making heavy weapons “a substantial pass” in PvE and applying new subclass verbs to several exotic weapons. The post continues to boil down weapon balance adjustments by archetype and exotic, and offers a look at perk updates linked to Lightfall’s upcoming new strand subclass abilities.
Highlights of this post include a nerfing for fusion rifles, some minor time-to-kill adjustments for machine guns, new crosshairs for shotguns that more accurately reflect their spread pattern, and an increase in damage, blast radius, and projectile collision for grenade launchers.
The post further explains updates to a number of specific Exotics like Sunspot, Leviathan’s Breath, and The Queenbreaker, while perk updates Osmosis and Elemental Capacitor working with strands, several bug fixes for Eager Edge, and a renaming of Blending Grenades to Desorienting Grenades include the effect better represent the benefit.
