Florida State University currently runs a federally funded (and therefore indeed taxpayer-funded) program called PURPOSE (Partners United for Research Pathways Oriented to Research Pathways Oriented to Social Justice in Education). ), as the name suggests, brings mindfulness to the curriculum. Is the website of the program Statuses:

The theme of the PURPOSE program is, “Social Justice: Using Research to Address Inequality in Education”. Students from FSU and FAMU will have the opportunity to develop their own research projects throughout the year-long study period by engaging with research issues aimed at educational injustices. One of the outcomes of our program is the value of participating in the social justice processwith the ultimate goal of ensuring that all groups of people can fully participate in a society that meets their needs, starting with an equal education.

During the spring and summer semesters, fellows will participate in surveys focused on social justice topics including culture-relevant pedagogy and research design, tools for oppression analysis, critical race theory, cross-cultural leadership, and tools for social change and actionled by both PURPOSE mentors and guest speakers from both campuses.

“Justice,” “social justice,” and “critical racial theory” are all prominent signs of “education,” tools that left-wing administrators and “educationalists” use. ” used to promote the unthinking minds of those whom they are pretending to educate but are actually communicating.

As a result, a conservative congressman from Florida, Representative Gus Bilirakis, had this to say:

Tax dollars should not be used to educate our children by promoting Important Race Theory. This biased framework espouses radical, divisive views that have been dismissed by Florida lawmakers, educators, and parents.

There is simply no place for this kind of awakened foundation in our schools. Furthermore, I believe its use in a Florida public educational setting is a violation of state law. I urge the Department of Education to investigate this misuse of funds.

And Congressman Bilirakis was right that the program was federally funded. As just the News report:

Newly discovered Ministry of Education document level shows that the department awarded $1,020,800 in a 2017 grant and $1,498,620 in a 2021 grant to a Florida-based program called Partners United for Research Pathways Oriented to Social Justice in Education (PURPOSE).

Florida has a law banning Critical Race Theory. This program should not be taught solely on the basis of that law and, as Congressman Bilirakis has pointed out, taxpayers’ money should not be used to fund programs that are clearly racist and full of hatred. so.

Fortunately, Christina Pushaw, press secretary for DeSantis, said that his office is considering stopping shows like this and opposing the program, along with ripping it off in a statement:

Here are two examples of how college education has devalued the very reasons why students are in school – projects that are teaching young people to hate their friends, while also distracting students. focuses on getting a high-quality education that prepares them for opportunities and success in professional life.

As you may know, last year, Governor DeSantis announced that CRT and CRT-inspired ideology would be banned in Florida’s K-12 public schools. The State Board of Education has enacted rules to ensure K-12 students are protected from this pernicious ideology of racial fundamentalism. So, current Florida regulation prohibits CRT from applying to K-12 education, but does not apply to colleges at this time.. ”

While DeSantis is taking great and good care of it, the question remains how many states have similar programs and if their governors, many of whom are more lenient on the CRT issue than DeSantis, will do. anything to stop the propagandists from waking up.
